WELCOME TO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND THE MASTER NATIONAL HUNT TEST BEING HELD 10-10-10
The Lassen Retriever Club is honored to host the 2010 Master National Hunt Test being held in Corning, California at the Clear Creek Sports Club in association with the Rolling Hills Casino.
The Master National Event is being held on a 1,400 acre ranch owned by the Nomlaki Indian Tribe. The Clear Creek Sports Club is a family run hunting club that opened in 1986. Owners Brad and Evangelina Henman are third generation hunting club operators. A slide show of the trial ground at Clear Creek Sports Club may be viewed on the Venue page of this web site.
The host hotels, The Vagabond Lodge and the Ramada Inn, are located at the Rolling Hills Casino. All social and business activities will take place in the Rolling Hills Casino Convention Center. Hotel reservations can be made at either the Ramada Inn, located adjacent to the Casino, or, at the Vagabond Lodge located within the Casino.
When making reservations be sure to state you are with the Master National Club so you can obtain the negotiated group rate. The Ramada Inn has set aside 44 dog friendly rooms and the Lodge has set aside all the first and second floor rooms as dog friendly. We recommend you make reservations early if you want a dog friendly room. Reservation information can be found on this web site under Accommodation. Folks making reservations at the host hotels before April 1, 2010 receive free raffle tickets.
For folks flying in from out of state you have a selection of five different airports. All five airports are listed on the Transportation page. There are driving instruction from each individual airport to Corning, California.
The Rolling Hills Casino has a first class RV park with full hook-ups. The RV Park has a 24 hour patrol. Located adjacent to the RV Park are private showers and laundry facilities. Reservations must be made in advance in order to receive the reduced rate being offered to the Master National Participants. Special instructions for making RV Park reservations are listed in the Accommodation section of our web site. We have also made arrangements for Dry Camping on Clear Creek Sports Club grounds adjacent to the Club House.
The temperatures in October are normally mild, but can range from hot to an unseasonal rain. Click here for weather or click in the lower left column of any of these pages.
Training grounds are still being acquired and we anticipate having around ten different sites. We will use the same procedures used in Texas for assigning training ground. These procedures are listed in the Training section of our web site.
To order training birds go to the Birds section of our web site. You will find two different types of order forms - one to order on line, and one by mail; but you will have to pay by check, there is no electronic payment for the birds. All training birds will come from the Clear Creek Sports Club. California Department of Fish and Game shooting regulations are explained in the Birds section of our web site.
On Sunday, October 10, 2010 the Lassen Retriever Club has a Pig Roast planned. The theme of the BBQ is Oktoberfest. The BBQ will be held adjacent to the Clear Creek Club House. All information on this event is detailed in the Pig Roast section of this web site. A laser rangefinder has been donated as a door prize and is included in the price of admission.
